mRNA Cap 2´-O-Methyltransferase GMP-grade (50 U/μl) - 10000 U

mRNA Cap 2´-O-Methyltransferase is a recombinant protein from vaccinia virus. The enzyme adds a methyl group to the 5´ end of the RNA at the 2´-O position of the first nucleotide of the cap structure. The enzyme uses SAM as a methyl donor to methylate the capped RNA to form the Cap1 structure. The Cap1 structure enhances the translation efficiency of the mRNA and therefore helps improve expression in mRNA transfection and microinjection experiments. The enzyme requires RNA with a m7GpppN, 7-methylguanosine cap structure as a substrate.
